Karen Johnson
Proprietor

Karen is a real inspiration to young women wanting to take up a career as a hair stylist. Karen started as a junior in the already established Review in Barrow-in-Furness and was trained by Joel Goncalves, one of the regions most respected hairdressers. After qualifying as a stylist nine years later in 1996, Karen bought the business.

In 2005 Karen also acquired the building and started work on turning it into a complete "High

street Retreat". The salon has three floors, a beauty studio on the top floor where clients get pampered from top to toe. On the middle floor you will find a relaxing coffee bar selling fabulous home made vegetarian food and scrumptious home made cakes. And of course on the ground floor - what Review is still most known for, the hair salon.

Karen believes in sourcing the very best products and is always looking for new and exciting products (Joico for healthy hair. Environ for healthy skin, and Jane Iredale mineral makeup for a skin that can breathe as well as glow). Karen

is also trained as an advanced nutrition consultant as she believes in feeding the body with good nutrition to keep it looking young and fresh.

Review also endorses ANP, which is more than

just a range of supplements; the Advanced Nutrition Programme is a complete nutritional programme includes an online consultation devised by the Institute of Optimum Nutrition. Clients complete an online questionnaire that includes questions on diet and lifestyle and the Online Health Report then recommends changes and supplements for optimal health. This is seen as a significant step towards Review offering a more inclusive approach to anti-ageing that incorporates improving energy and vitality as well as appearance.

Review has evolved into a safe haven for mind, body and soul.
